American Pit Bulls seized by specialist police officers after Bradford dog attack

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after being attacked by two dogs as he walked to work along a Bradford street.

Armed police responded to the incident, involving two American Pit Bulls, in Buttershaw Drive at 7.30am this morning.

Sergeant Richard Sheard, from Bradford Neighbourhood Policing Team, said "We can confirm that we received a report of a man who had been bitten by two dogs near an address in Buttershaw this morning.

"The man has attended hospital for treatment to serious injuries to his upper arm and minor injuries to his back and face.

"Officers attended and secured the dogs - which are American Pit Bulls - in a garden. There were other people on the street at the time.

"The animals have been taken away along with a third dog - a Red Nosed Pit Bull - by specialist dog officers.

I hope the man makes a full and speedy recovery but I fear that once again dogs will pay the ultimate price for not being under control of their owner.
