Border Collie wins award as Scotland's Top Farm Dog

A 12-year-old Border Collie who defied the odds to survive a mystery illness, has neem named Scotland’s top farm dog.

Bess, a retired former Scottish sheepdog trials champion, tri-coloured collie, is owned by Ian Brownlie who farms at Piperpool, near Alloa.

The pair were presented with their award at the World Sheepdog Championships that took place last week after being selected from the entries to the Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) initiative.

Accompanying Bess will be her daughter, Mo, the 2013 British Champion, and nephew, Gus, who both competed at the World Championships, along with around 240 other top trial dogs from around the globe.
